Welcome / Bienvenidos to NVUSD English Language Learner Services 

If your child's home life includes any language(s) in addition to English, we will give your child an assessment of his/her English language proficiency skills. The California English Language Development Test (CELDT) measures your child's skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing English. We will notify you of the results of this assessment, as well as instructional program options for your child.  Click here for more CELDT Information

If your child qualifies for English Learner Services, he/she will be given an annual assessment of English proficiency until he/she is reclassified as a Fluent English Proficient student.

We invite you to take an active role in your child's education. Your child's school will provide you with information about opportunities for parent involvement and support.
