History

Napa High School is a comprehensive high school with a rich tradition in the Napa Valley serving the community for over 100 years. The long history is a tremendous asset, engendering loyalty and support sometimes through several generations. The tradition of introspection, change and renewal has made the school today a catalyst for change, while simultaneously providing continuity and stability to a diverse, dynamic student population. The school motto, “Proud Past, Promising Future,” reflects Napa High’s respect for the past and excitement about the future.

 

Learning Environment

The strength of Napa High School lies with the staff. Knowledgeable, optimistic, energetic, continually seeking professional development opportunities, the teachers truly believe that all students can lean and will do whatever it takes to help student learn at a higher level. The learning environment is exceptionally positive and safe. Discipline is applies in an equal, fair and consistent manner to all students. There is a zero tolerance for alcohol and drug use and gang activity. Three simple guidelines monitor student behavior: Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful.

Parent Environment

The community supports a wide variety of Napa High School programs. Parents and supporters step forward each year to contribute time,, effort and financial support to extend activities for students. There are many parent clubs on campus. They are: Academic Booster Club, Siempre Adelante, Choral, Band, Athletics and Spirit Leader Booster Clubs. The Alumni Association supports various initiatives on campus. Parent participation in School Site Council and The English Learner Advisory Council provides input on school-wide decisions regarding the instructional program. Napa High School is proud to be sponsored by the Napa Valley Vintners Association.
