History
Browns Valley Elementary School has a rich tradition of provide an excellent well-rounded education for almost 100 years. Starting as a one room school house Browns Valley Elementary School now educates students from Mt Veeder, Browns Valley subdivisions and the Carneros Regions. The school has changed with time, but still offers an excellent well rounded education.
Learning Environment
Compassion, Community, and Commitment are written on walkways as you enter our school. All decisions are based on “What is Best for Kids!” Browns Valley is a “Tease Free Zone” as respect for all is valued and practiced by our school community. Parents, students, and staff work together to maintain our safe and effective learning environment. All voices are heard and appreciated. The social, emotional, and academic success of each and every student is our focus.
Academic Environment
We differentiated instruction to maximize student learning and instructional time. We implement a rigorous 21st century guaranteed and viable curriculum while using technology, art, dance, and cultural awareness to ensure that we educate the “Whole Child”. While some students are receiving academic support, other students are engaged learning extensions and other academic challenges.
Parent Environment
Parents play an active role in the classroom, on the playground and at school events. Parent involvement is a tradition at Browns Valley Elementary School. The parents and staff have a laser like focus on student successes and educating the whole child. Parents are tutors, yard duty supervisors, take on leadership roles, maintain the school garden, work in the library, and participate in district level committees. Input from parents is respected and appreciated during School Site Council Meetings and Family Club Meetings. Parents make a difference at Browns Valley Elementary School.
