American Canyon May 24 Town Hall Q&A

On May 24, 2012 the Office of School Site Improvement held a town hall meeting at the ACHS theater to continue the information sharing process with the local community regarding the ongoing elementary school boundaries issue.

The presentation portion of the meeting, led by Don Evans, director of the School Site Improvement office, included some background history presented by past Canyon Oaks Principal and current Director of Elementary Ed, Maren Rocca-Hunt; demographic studies and student loading data presented by Cheryl King and Jamie Iseman of the consulting firm, Jack Shreder and Associates; and concluded with the task force report including a list of potential action items.

In addition to Ms. Rocca-Hunt and Mr. Evans, the school district was represented by Superintendent Patrick Sweeney; Board Members, Jose Hurtado, President and Robb Felder, Clerk; Assistant Sup. of Business Services, Wade Roach; and Canyon Oaks Principal, Troy Knox.

The majority of the two hour long meeting was used to field questions from the attending community members.

The questions and answers are provided here for further review.
