History

El Centro Elementary School was established in the early 1960s in the north end of Napa, California. In the 1960s this part of Napa was a mixture of small farms and new housing. Since then more neighborhood housing has replaced some of the farms but the school retains the feel of a small neighborhood school set among small family farms.

Learning Environment

Our teachers take pride in providing our students with the best educational opportunities possible.  We are committed to assisting our students in their academic, social, and emotional growth.  We use a variety of teaching techniques throughout the school day to help each child meet state standards and to enrich their learning whenever possible. Our staff differentiates instruction to support students who need extra support or who need enrichment during lessons. We focus on the joy of learning and encourage parent participation.

Academic Environment

School Vision

All students enrolled at El Centro will continually improve and succeed in all academic and life skill areas.  Classrooms will provide a supportive environment that includes joyful educational experiences.

School Mission

We will provide equal access, equitable opportunities and high expectations for each child. We support excellence in teaching. We encourage lesson design that includes fun yet challenging activities. We continually focus on preparing students to take their place in the larger community.

Parent Environment

We believe that the best learning climate is one in which parents, children, and staff work cooperatively towards our common goal – a quality education for all of our students.  We encourage parents to support our school and assist with learning in order to provide the best educational experiences possible for our students.
